Methods of transporting live animals
Two Main Methods for Shipping Live Animals Abroad:
1. Accompanied Live Animal Transport (with Passenger)
This method is limited to household pets only. When purchasing your ticket, you must request the live animal transport service. Upon approval, you’ll receive an AVIH code, which allows your pet to be accepted by the airline. Depending on airline regulations, your pet may travel either in the cabin or in a designated cargo hold.
Note: Some airlines do not allow live animal transport. Therefore, it is important to consult with a cargo service company before booking your ticket.
2. Unaccompanied Live Animal Transport
This method allows the shipment of all types of live animals (both domestic and non-domestic). It offers higher safety and more specialized care. The animal is handed over at the cargo terminal and shipped under strict and standardized conditions to its destination.
