Sending carpets and rugs by air
Passengers are allowed to carry up to 20 square meters of handmade carpets when leaving the country, with no restriction on the number of pieces, as long as the total area does not exceed the limit.
- Carpets can be taken out through air, land, and sea borders.
- The export of valuable carpets with historical or cultural significance is prohibited.
- Sending carpets to Iraq, Syria, and Saudi Arabia is not permitted.

According to the regulations of the Central Bank, travelers are allowed to carry up to 5,000 USD in cash or its equivalent in other currencies.
Currency transfer through bank-issued traveler’s checks is also permitted.

- Carrying personal jewelry up to a limit of 150 grams is allowed.
- Exporting silverware and silver items as gifts or souvenirs is permitted up to a maximum of 2 kilograms, but this does not include historical or cultural artifacts.

- Antique objects, original artworks, handwritten manuscripts, valuable coins, and any cultural or historical artifacts are not permitted to be taken out of the country.
Entry of currency, gold and silver into the country
- The import of foreign currency is unlimited; however, large amounts require a currency declaration and approval from Bank Melli at the entry points.
- Personal jewelry can be brought in without a permit if within a reasonable amount, but larger quantities require authorization from the Central Bank.

- Passengers are allowed to export a maximum of 100 grams of saffron and 10 kilograms of pistachios per passport.
- Accompanying travelers are not permitted to carry saffron or pistachios, even within the allowed limits.

- Non-commercial shipment of saffron is permitted without the need for a business license or export permit.
- The maximum value of foreign goods sent via postal service is $80 per person.
